Performance Measurement

Performance measurement of computing platforms consists of identifying and measuring those resources consumed in the normal cycle of the software’s operation.

In a performance measurement instance for operating systems a slightly different approach is required. Any number of tools may be used to establish a numerical base line which is used to identify the applications or operating system’s starting point.

Consistency of the input as well as reliability of a series of reports and statistical analysis of the raw empirical data is paramount to the overall success of the performance study.
